Workshop 1
The first workshop in this 2-part series is built around a community game that invites residents to interact with maps of their neighborhoods, showing where planting trees is easier, harder, and hardest—and why. Come play the Dreams of Shade game alongside neighbors, city leaders, community health workers, and ASU partners to envision shade that protects residents when and where they need it most.
After the first workshop, the ASU team will research the priority locations identified by residents for public shade and tree planting. We will also encourage residents to engage with neighbors, local businesses, nonprofits, churches, schools, and homeowners about planting trees on private property for shared community benefit.
Workshop 2
The second workshop will report back the shared findings from Workshop 1 and begin to envision short-, medium-, and long-range plans based on what is needed and what is possible in each neighborhood.
Neighborhood Tree Action Plan
The ASU team will then draw on resident input gathered during the workshop series to operationalize resident priorities and city data in a Neighborhood Tree Action Plan—to realize and maximize Shade for All.
