Workshop 2 Details

The second workshop in the series in Lindo Park took place on October 24, 2024, at Spaces of Opportunity. This event offered a cozy, interactive experience designed to share the resident priorities and strategies we learned at Workshop 1 and foster deeper connections among attendees. Through hands-on activities and small group discussions, participants explored ways to make urban areas more resilient through increased shade and greenery and had the opportunity to learn more about upcoming paid learning opportunities into green jobs supporting urban nature and sustaining a greater tree canopy. The informal setup allowed for personal engagement and collaborative problem-solving, inviting community members to envision the future of shade in Lindo Park, connecting them to tree-planting initiatives in their neighborhoods, and engaging them in immediate and long-term tree and shade plans for implementation.
